7 ppt presentation design tips. Add magic to your business presentation design
If you see presentation before and after redesigning, you might think that business presentation design is about magic. Here I want to share some tips which add this magic to your presentations. Of course, you also need a little bit of time and efforts.

1. Decrease the number of colours.
Stay with 1 main colour and 1 secondary (better grey or navy shades). It is totally enough to make all stresses. But it makes the look of the presentation much more professional. I never thought it works but now I love grey and started to use it not only for presentations but in real life as well. You can vary your main colour with tints. Business presentation designer hint: use main colour, 25@ transparency of the main colour, 50, 75 and 85 or 90 ( last depends on colour). It is easy to remember. Do not use tints from the presentation colour scheme in your template, it gives mostly unusable colours, instead put mannyally 25, 50, etc percents of transparency.

Example: If you have 5 coloured columns your audience do not understand what is important on this chart and might confuse with outcomes. While using one strong colour for key point and grey shadows for secondary will make your main idea clear from first sight.

Color may totally distroy the flow of the attention for your audience
2. Try to make slides lighter. Inside of one big bold colour element use this element in light grey and make bold the text. Most of the colours are too jerk for the colouring element but good for small points.

3. Avoid using red in lines and text. If red is your brand colour try to use it in element as fill colour. Why? Red looks bad in thin lines. The same with text, as letters consist of thin lines. And if you use red for stress main idea, remember that on a slide you can stress only 2-5 words, everything can't be the main piece of a slide, most elements should belong to secondary points.

Red color needs attention to be used correctly.
4. Instead of black text use dark grey. So you will have black as an additional tool to stress, for wording.

5. Big text can't guarantee better readability. But empty space makes the slide more structured and easy to navigate around the info. Fall in love with white space and you will have easy to read presentations. But still remember that it is a presentation, not a text doc.

Small letters do not always mean hard to read and understand
6. Long sentences and text looks badly and read badly. Paragraph makes reading of text easier. For presentation, it is necessary to edit the text to receive short sentences. The less the better. Here I mean a presentation which will be shown on screen through the web or personally. This additional time with your materials will create magic as a result.

Text editing is boring and not easy for some people. But it gives brilliant result to the whole presentation
7. Review everything on a big screen. Better review twice: once checking every detail and for the second time with half-closed eyes, in that way you can see the composition and overall flow. I learned it from painters and it works just perfectly.

The last point "Review" can be a conclusion or a start point for my 7 ppt presentation design tips.
Usually, I can improve presentation at least on 15% of quality only by reviewing it on the big screen. I do not know why but we did not like this phasis a lot. I thought that it is only my fault, but after conversations with presenters and other designers, I realized that it is the phase that everyone tries to skip. Probably because it is near the finish. But it can make finish really great and resultful, believe me.
Make the last leap!
